Terms of Service

Effective Date: June 1, 2026

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the SaveSense mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by 1598609 B.C. Ltd., operating as SaveSense ("we," "our," or "us").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

• Be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction)
• Be a resident of Canada or the United States
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
• Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable law

2. Account Registration

• Provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration
• Keep your password confidential and not share it with any third party
• Notify us immediately at legal@savesense.app if you suspect unauthorized use of your account
• Be solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

3. Description of Service

SaveSense is a personal finance tool that helps you identify and manage recurring subscription expenses. The Service allows you to:

• Connect one bank account via Plaid to automatically detect subscription charges (read-only access)
• Upload PDF bank statements as an alternative to direct bank connection
• View a list of detected subscriptions with frequency and cost information
• Participate in a referral program to invite others to SaveSense

The Service is for personal, non-commercial use only. SaveSense provides information and analysis tools. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice.

4. Bank Connection & Financial Data

SaveSense uses Plaid Technologies, Inc. ("Plaid") to facilitate bank connections. By connecting your bank account, you:

• Grant SaveSense read-only access to your transaction history and account information through Plaid
• Acknowledge that your banking credentials are entered directly into Plaid's interface. SaveSense never receives or stores your banking login credentials.
• Agree to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy (plaid.com/legal/end-user-privacy-policy)
• Understand that you are limited to connecting one (1) bank account at this time

5. PDF Statement Upload

• You may upload up to three (3) months of PDF bank statements as an alternative to Plaid
• You represent that you are the account holder or authorized to share the contents of the statements
• Raw PDFs are processed in memory and never stored on our servers; only extracted transaction records are retained
• You agree not to upload statements belonging to other individuals without their explicit consent

6. Acceptable Use

You must not:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or discover the source code of the Service
• Upload malicious files, viruses, or harmful content
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Create multiple accounts for the purpose of abusing the referral program or any other feature

7. Referral Program

• Each user receives one unique referral code
• Codes may only be used for genuine personal referrals. Automated or misleading tactics are prohibited.
• Self-referrals (using your own code to create a second account) are strictly prohibited
• We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the referral program and to disqualify fraudulent referrals at any time

8. Subscriptions & Payments

All core features (subscription detection, vigilance alerts, spending analysis, and savings opportunities) are available to every user at no charge. SaveSense also offers optional paid plans (Premium and Ultimate) that unlock additional perks.

• Paid plans are sold as auto-renewing subscriptions through in-app purchase on the Apple App Store (and Google Play on Android). Current prices are displayed in the app before you confirm a purchase and may vary by region and currency.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID (or Google Play account) at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew for the same period and at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store (or Google Play) account settings.
• Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple (or Google) in accordance with their policies. SaveSense cannot directly issue refunds for purchases made through the App Store or Google Play.
• Premium can also be earned at no cost through the referral program described above. Where a paid subscription and a referral-based or trial entitlement overlap, you receive the highest level of access you are entitled to.
• We may offer an optional, time-limited free trial that requires no payment information and reverts to the free plan automatically when it ends.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service and all its contents, including the SaveSense name, logo, app design, algorithms, software, text, and graphics, are owned by 1598609 B.C. Ltd., operating as SaveSense and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described therein.

11. Disclaimers

We disclaim all warranties including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that subscription detection will capture every charge accurately.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, 1598609 B.C. Ltd., operating as SaveSense shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) CAD $100.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 1598609 B.C. Ltd., operating as SaveSense and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms, your use of the Service, or your violation of any third party's rights.

14. Termination

You may terminate by deleting your account from Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately and without notice for breach of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or discontinuation of the Service.

15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada. Disputes shall first be addressed informally by contacting legal@savesense.app. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the Arbitration Act, SBC 2020, c. 2, conducted in English in Vancouver, British Columbia. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

16. Changes to These Terms

When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date and notify you via email at least 14 days before changes take effect. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

17. General Provisions

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SaveSense. Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it in the future.
